About Local 214

On February 2007 the newly chartered Local 214 became a stronger and larger union. Formally known as Local 21, that once encompassed the Baton Rouge area, now includes the areas of North Louisiana to New Orleans and Lake Charles to Jackson, Mississippi.

Local 214 is committed to quality craftsmanship. With the determination to produce quality work, 214 prides itself on innovative training. With training in several different fields of sheet metal we are supplying the field with dedicated and specialty trained craftsman.

In our architectural sheet metal shops the work ranges from flashing homes to using special metal for commercial buildings to designing different objects from copper, stainless, aluminum, and colored metals for use in restaurants, malls, casino’s, museums, state buildings, and the list goes on.

To live in Louisiana air conditioning is a must. From residential homes to commercial buildings to entertainment centers, we must have cool air during the summer and warm air during the winter. HVAC (Heating, Venting, and Air Condition) has many different areas that can be specialized. Designing, fabricating, installing, testing equipment, and balancing only shows how far you can go in this field.

Along the banks of the great Mississippi River we have many industrial plants. Our industrial sheet metal shops are in many of these plants. Not only do we install mechanical devices and special guards, we are commonly asked by these plants to design equipment for their special needs. With some of these special needs comes the necessity to handle special metals.

We also train in the field of welding for all types of jobs. Different types of metals call for different welding techniques, so our craftsmen are trained to weld by using mig, tig, stick, and oxy fuel. We also have upgrade classes for craftsman that want to upgrade or become certified welders.

There is no limit to the knowledge or skills that can be gained in our craft. Learning our trade or upgrading you skills can only better our trade and better you future.
